About Lady Hawkin’s School

The centre of learning is at the heart of our community.
At Lady Hawkins School we take immense pride in the role our students play in shaping our close knit school community.

Our Vision, Ethos & Values

Our size makes it possible for the whole staff to get to know students as individuals and make their personal happiness, care and development a key priority. Our warm, friendly environment provides students of all backgrounds and abilities with the opportunity to work to their full potential.

We are proud of our examination results, which show good added value, but we believe that education is about more than examination results so we prize development of the whole individual. Our curriculum is designed to be broad and balanced with full national curriculum coverage with a range of academic and vocational options at Key Stage 4.

In class achievement is supported by a substantial range of extra-curricular activities and events, including Major and Minor Games, Music, Drama, Dance, Theatre visits, School Productions, Skiing Holiday, National Mathematics Challenge, Chess Club,  Eco-Club, Enterprise Challenges and Duke of Edinburgh’s Award. OfSTED recognised the all round value of these activities and we all recognise the contribution that shared extracurricular activities makes to the exceptionally good relationships within the school and between school and the community.

The School is very lucky to be set in beautiful grounds with an Eco Classroom, all-weather outdoor Tennis Courts and Multi Use Games Area for the school and the community.

As a school, we will continually monitor your child’s behaviour and if it becomes apparent that they are behaving in a way that is detrimental to their own or others’ learning, then we may invite you into school to discuss the situation further.
